Chinese propaganda media thumbed its nose at the U.S. and laughed because the Washington elites running the show are dragging us into Third World status. The problem isn’t the communists are taunting working Americans. The problem is that — this time — they’re right.
Prompted by negative comments made about our democracy by former President Barack Obama, China’s state-run Global Times was tickled silly by the self-defeatist attitude of a former president.
“I think our adversaries have seen us weakened, not just as a consequence of this election, but over the last several years. We have these cleavages in the body politic that they’re convinced they can exploit,” Obama said on 60 Minutes.
The propaganda response was — unfortunately — spot on. The Global Times mocked working Americans who allow elites — Obama included — to run roughshod over daily lives. They lie and cheat their way into office. Once in office, they join other political powerbrokers to pass laws that benefit them and not voters.
“The American elites who pursue their interests and moral superiority are getting farther and farther away from the vast majority of the ordinary American people. As a result, there comes the systemic failure,” the Global Times reportedly stated.
Cases in points include Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who enjoyed no-mask hairdresser appointments while these businesses were closed to everyday people. California Governor Gavin Newsome recently held what he called an “outdoor French laundry party.” Photos reveal a very indoor gathering of fine dining with zero mask use. Speaker Pelosi continues to block coronavirus relief packages for minimum wage workers and small businesses. Despite the Democrat reportedly being worth more than $114 million, her husband benefited from the first wave of relief intended for those in need.
Working-class people pay for politicians’ high-quality health care while buying inferior coverage or paying out of pocket. Liberal elites use every tool to block school choice vouchers that help low-income, and inner-city parents send their children to better systems. Elites, in turn, send their kids to private schools using taxpayer salaries for tuition. Yes, they see voters as suckers who help their families get ahead of yours.
“The US decline is an inevitable outcome of the structural problems the country has had over the years. If these long-standing problems cannot be completely uprooted, the decline of the US will continue to be irreversible,” the Global Times went on. “Nonetheless, Obama is troubled that adversaries have seen the US weakened instead of spending more time and energy on figuring out a way to fix the problems. Such mentality of US elites will push the US decline further.”
China’s communist party engaged in election interference specifically to help Joe Biden win the White House. They are well aware that he will reboot the same failed policies that allow rival nations to swindle American jobs while his son, Hunter, and other family members get rich. China is right. Until elites play by the same rules and do the people’s business, we’re all second-class citizens.
